IPAF 3A & 3B e-learning theory
This online module covers the theoretical aspects of safe MEWP operation, including structural components, regulations, pre-use inspections, and safe operating methods. Successful completion of the e-learning module is usually a prerequisite for the practical assessment.

Flexible learning
The e-learning component allows candidates to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule.
Accessibility
It can be accessed on various devices like computers, tablets, and smartphones, as long as they have a camera.
Content
The e-learning covers essential topics like machine parts, relevant regulations, pre-use checks, safe operating procedures, and potential hazards.
Identification
IPAF uses facial recognition during the e-learning and practical assessments to verify the candidate’s identity.
Prerequisite for practical assessment
The e-learning module must be completed and passed before the practical training and assessment can be taken.
Reduced practical training time
By completing the theory online, the in-person practical training can be shortened and focused on hands-on experience.
Duration
While the e-learning itself can be completed at the learner’s pace, it generally takes 2-3 hours to complete.
Certification
Successful completion of both e-learning and practical assessments leads to the internationally recognized IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) card.
